Lesson 01 of 12

What Is a One-Person Company?

The Core Idea

A one-person company is not:

One person doing everything alone.

It is:

One person who owns and runs a system that consistently creates value, reaches users, and generates income.

The Five Systems

A one-person internet company needs at least five things working together:

Assets → Products → Distribution → Measurement → Monetization

I think of it as a formula:

OPC = Assets × Products × Distribution × Measurement × Monetization

This is a thinking model, not a math equation. But the multiplication sign matters:

Great product × Zero traffic ≈ $0 Lots of traffic × No real value ≈ $0 Product + Users × No monetization = $0

If any factor is zero, the result stays close to zero. Every part of the system has to work.

The Mindset Shift

Before: "Can I build this website?"

After: "Where does this website fit in my company system? Which factor does it strengthen?"

This is a completely different way of thinking. Once I started asking the second question, I stopped building things just because I could build them.

"A one-person company is not about doing everything yourself. It's about building a system that keeps creating value."
