Most one-person companies start with one website. Six months later, they have four. A year later, they have eight.
Not all of them deserve the same level of attention. Some are growing. Some are dead. Some are experiments that have not yet shown what they are.
Portfolio management is the skill of deciding which one gets your time this week.
Grow
Working. Has traction. Deserves your best time and effort right now.
Maintain
Generating income. Stable. Needs only occasional updates and monitoring.
Experiment
New. Not enough data yet. Give it a defined window, then decide.
Retire
No traction, no revenue, no path forward. Archive it. Don't pretend.
Monthly, ask these questions about each active project:
If the answer to all four is No, it is a Retire candidate. Don't keep paying for a domain you're not working on.
Your capital is not just money. It is also time and attention.
If you are constantly moving between six active projects with no clear priority, nothing will grow fast enough to matter.
